Operations & Copper Resources

Operations Overview

Lisbon Valley Mining Company employs approximately 110 employees to operate its mine and heap leach open pit copper mine. The Company produces its copper by placing run-of-mine ore on a lined leach pad where copper is released from its host rock into solution. The copper in solution is then recovered through a solvent extraction/electrowinning process which creates sheets of 99.999% pure copper cathode. Lisbon Valley Mining Company operates a closed loop recovery process and reuses or recycles all of the materials that its operations consume. The Company has infrastructure in place to support up to 54 million pounds of annual copper production.

The Company has invested in expanding its mine life by possibly employing in situ leaching which is conducted using a well field in place of open pit mining and heap leach operations and thereby results in a lower surface disturbance.
